Max Number of PMUs supported?

Hello all,

I would like to find out what the maximum number of PMUs the openPDC platform can support. I did some diggings but the closest thing i can find is that TVA SPDC supported up to 120 PMUs back then. Does anyone know what the maximum number is?

Hello Rex,

There are no hardcoded limitations. Theoretically, a single openPDC will support up to 2^32 measurements (so as many PMUs as it would take to reach that measurement limit). In stress testing, the routing engine within openPDC was able to process data from nearly 2000 simulated devices. This does not necessarily represent any real-world limitations, and other parts of the system besides the routing engine may have their own bottlenecks.
