I have a PDC acquiring two PMUs via UDP. On this PDC, I am receiving complete data from the PMUs without any interruptions.
This PDC replicates the data to a central PDC, which is also the openPDC. Communication between the PDCs is via TCP.
The data is being interrupted in the central PDC.
I ran a test sending data from only one PMU and saw that the data is not being interrupted in the central PDC.
Has anyone else experienced this problem?
Hello Felipe_Augusto_Cima,
I’m a little confused by what I’m seeing. I presume the first screenshot comes from the PDC that is replicating the data, and the second screenshot comes from the central PDC? It seems that despite the fact that the first PDC is not discarding or downsampling any measurements, the downstream PDC is displaying large gaps in the data for just one of the two PMUs. I’m not sure how to explain that, unless I’m misunderstanding something about the situation.
Was the first screenshot taken during a time when you were only streaming one of the two PMUs?
Is the central PDC receiving data from that output stream?
The Connected Clients statistic indicates there are two clients connected to the output stram. Who is the second client connected to the output stream? Does that client see the same data gaps?
Have you tried connecting to the output stream using PMU Connection Tester for comparison?
Thanks,
Stephen
Hello StephenCwills,
I will try to clarify the information here.
The first screenshot shows the output streams. At the time, it was transmitting both PMUs.
In any case, I ran some new tests, which I will post below to clarify the issue.
System configuration for collection and transmission.
Test - PMU Siemens 7KE85
openPDC Concentrator Collection Test - Normal communication flow rate of 60.2 frames/sec
openPDC Concentrator Collection Test - A freeze in the communication flow was identified, and the transmission rate dropped to 42.9 frames/sec.
openPDC Concentrator Collection Test - A freeze in the communication flow was identified, the transmission rate dropped to 39,19 frames/sec, and there was an increase in the total number of frames.
openPDC Concentrator Collection Test - A freeze in the communication flow was identified, the transmission rate increased to 72 frames/sec, and there was an increase in the total number of frames.

Test - PMU GE Vernova RPV311
openPDC Concentrator Collection Test - A freeze in the communication flow was identified, the transmission rate decreased to 48 frames/sec, and there was an increase in the total number of frames.
openPDC Concentrator Collection Test - A freeze in the communication flow was identified, the transmission rate decreased to 27 frames/sec, and there was an increase in the total number of frames.
openPDC Concentrator Collection Test - A freeze in the communication flow was identified, the transmission rate increased to 92. frames/sec, and there was an increase in the total number of frames.
