Toolling and Workflow Share - Offline OpenStreetMap XYZ Tiles

This is a solution to generate OpenStreetMap XYZ Tiles to be used by PQ Dashboard on servers that are air gapped. I think the documentation written within explains things pretty good so I’ll just share the repo GitHub - Sn3akyP3t3/offline-osm-xyz-tiles · GitHub.

Once the tiles are generated place them on the IIS server that is hosting your PQ Dashboard instance under the root folder for your site. A relatively sane folder name of Tiles or similar is ideal. Then modify the Web.config line 73 that starts similar to this: PQDashboard/src/PQDashboard/Web.config at 292435bdd32c2294e5380857069eeb15800c4e30 · GridProtectionAlliance/PQDashboard · GitHub Change the value to match your server such as SEE REPLY. No need to restart the IIS server as this is a static file change which is instantly served.

Documentation:

  • ReadMe.md is pretty generic and references the other two documents. It has the instructions for how-to assuming all the dependencies are installed and in place.
  • PREREQUISITES.md highlights all the pieces needed to run and where they run from.
  • offline-osm-xyz-tiles.md goes into a little more in-depth than the ReadMe.md did. It explains why some things are the way they are and also provides some hints to avoid pitfalls I fell for when getting it up and running. If you run into an error or blocker try reviewing this document to see if you can help yourself get unstuck. It is in this document where it hints where to put the tiles that are generated, but since I made this repo generic it doesn’t specify exactly where it goes with the PQ Dashboard.

Only two links are allowed so I’m adding the third link as a reply.

From initial post SEE REPLY getting around the 2 links restriction.
