I’m currently working on an application involving synchrophasor data and PMU communication, and want to explore the practical differences between the IEEE C37.118-2018 and the IEEE C37.118-2024 standards.
Could someone please help clarify the main technical and implementation differences between these two versions? Specifically, I’m interested in how updates in the 2024 revision might impact data formats, communication protocols, performance, or interoperability in typical PMU/PDC deployments.
