Convert C37.118-2005 to C37.118-2011

I see the problem. These screenshots are coming from the openPDC Manager Remote System Console page. Maybe it would be easier to grab the text as output if you use the openPDCConsole.exe application instead.

Based on the output in these screenshots, it looks to me like you actually ran the list CRIO command, not the list PDC_4723 command. I don’t even see the info from your original screenshot that displays information about [Stationab]. Can you try to get the output from the list PDC_4723 command?

Hi Stephen,

I was able to get the details into notepad.
Please find attached. I could not attach text, so I zip the text file and attached.

Thanks,
Rabi Kar.
OPENPDC_error.zip (2.0 KB)

Yeah, it looks like openPDC is literally not receiving any data on the port.

      Calculated data rate: 0.0 bytes/sec, 0.0000 Mbps

I don’t see a difference between the openPDC setup and the PMU Connection Tester setup so I’m still not sure what could be going on. If you run the initialize PDC_4723 command in openPDC Console, does it produce any errors?

I initialized the PDC_4723. it does not show any error. I have attached the report. Will restarting the openPDC services or the computer work?

Thanks,
Rabi Kar.

I was monitoring wireshark to see if we are receiving any synchrowave data from the relay, and the relay is actually sending data. The thing I found is the data type is C37.118-2005 instead of 2011, will that prevent the data being captured in openPDC. But the PMU connection did show data with 2011 settings. I have attached the screenshot of wireshark.

Thanks,
Rabi Kar.

Check and see if the Windows firewall is blocking UDP traffic to the openPDC service.

Hi ritchie,

I turned off the windows firewell. Also if PMU connection tester can accept the UDP data, I do not think firewell is blocking anything.

Thanks,
Rabi Kar.

It’s possible to add rules that apply to a specific program.

Sometimes Windows creates this type of rule automatically with a prompt.

You may want to verify that Windows Firewall is fully disabled.

Hi Stephen and ritchie,

Thanks for the help. You are right. Even though I turned off the Domain Network, the public and private network firewell was on. And hence I was not receiving any data. Now I am receiving the data.

Also one more question, is it possible to view or save the analog data in openPDC.

Thanks,
Rabi Kar.

Hi Rabi,

On the last step of the input device wizard in openPDC Manager, there is a checkbox you can use to include analog values as input measurements.

Those analog values should be visible on the Graph Measurements screen, although I believe they cannot be added to the real-time plot. They can also be routed to a historian just like any other measurement.

Thanks,
Stephen
