Hi,

there are any advice from GPA about use antivirus on OpenPDC and OpenHistorian servers?
Antivirus can affect the performance of the OpenHistorian and OpenPDC?

There are any recommendation about this topic?

Hi Janio,

Typically, antivirus should not have much of an effect on the runtime performance of openPDC and openHistorian. However, it’s worth noting that the openHistorian archive has to read and write data to the filesystem, and any antivirus which actively scans files opened by other programs can hurt the performance of openHistorian by delaying access to those files. If you are concerned about the performance, you should be able to add an exception to the antivirus software so that it ignores the openHistorian’s archive files.
