# How To Re-Enable 'Launch OpenSTE Trending Viewer' Button

I found the need to restore this button for our needs and figured I’d share. This is just a quick blurb on how to re-enable the Launch OpenSTE Trending Viewer button that was disabled December 12, 2022 under the commit 4baa07d.

Using your favorite text editor on the server hosting your instance of PQ Dashboard open up this file for editing: /PQDashboardSiteRoot/Views/Main/Home.cshtml Where PQDashboardSiteRoot is the root path to where you have the PQDashboard instance hosted with IIS. Locate the function called `makeOpenSTEButton_html` at or around line 480. In that method you will see a line that starts with `return_html += '<button disabled onclick="OpenWindowToOpenSTE`. Remove keyword `disabled` from that line. Save your edit. Restart IIS and the Launch OpenSTE Trending Viewer button should now be re-enabled.

As of time of writing this article on 2026-10-20 the line number to edit is 489.
